The Reliance Stadium is one of the four first-class & two international cricket stadiums located in the city. The Baroda cricket team uses this ground as their home venue. The ground is owned & managed by the Indian Petrochemicals Ltd. (IPCL), a public sector oil & gas company. The city has another cricket stadium, called the Moti Bagh stadium, which is recognized as the oldest cricket ground in Asia. But the Reliance Stadium has now replaced the Moti Bagh stadium as the premier cricket stadium in the city. The first one-day on this ground was played in the year 1994 between India & New Zealand.
