Pune Warrior is a franchise cricket team that plays in the Indian Premier League or the IPL. It is one of the two teams that were added in IPL in this season, the other being the Kochi Tuskers.

The team is owned by Indian business house Sahara Group, who made a winning bid of $370 million to buy the team. The team is based in the Indian city of Pune in the state of Maharashtra. Yuvraj Singh is the captain of the team while Geoff Marsh is currently the coach. Some of the important players playing for the team include the likes of Sourav Ganguly, Graeme Smith, Nathan McCullum, Jesse Ryder, Robin Uthappa, Murli Karthik, Wayne Parnell, Jerome Taylor, Manish Pandey etc.

The team has played only in 2011 season & its performance in the tournament was disastrous. It managed to win only 4 out of its 14 group stage matches & failed to get pass the group stage.
