Central Stags are a first-class cricket team in New Zealand. It regularly participates in first-class tournaments in New Zealand like the first-class championship the Plunket Shield as well as the state ODI tournaments. The Central Stags team has been formed by combining eight individual district associations.

The team has been adorned by many great kiwi cricketers like Martin Crowe, Mark Greatbatch, Craig Spearman etc. Currently notable players are Ross Taylor, Jacob Oram, Matthew Sinclair, Jesse Ryder and Ewen Thompson.

The team has won many domestic tournaments so far. It has won the Plunket Shield four times in 1953-54, 1966-67, 1967-68 & 1970-71. It has won the Shell Trophy four times as well in 1986-87, 1991-92, 1998-99 & 2005-06. It also has the distinction of winning the domestic T20 tournament, the HRV Cup, twice in 2007-08 & 2009-10.
