Australia vs New Zealand, 2nd Test
Bellerive Oval, Hobart

For several years, New Zealand and Australia has been magnificent cricketing rivals in the Oceania region. Even though they are neighbors, when the national cricket teams of Australia and New Zealand step onto the pitch, all love is lost. There are several memorable encounters associated with the Aussies and the Kiwis, and many a match has gone down to the wire. Whether it is Test Matches, One Day Internationals or T20 encounters, crowds always expect more when these two teams are locking horns in the 22 yards. Coming December, the cricket fraternity will witness another epic battle between these two class teams, as they will face off in a two match Test Series.

According to the schedule released by the International Cricket Council, and accepted and adhered by the respective cricketing boards of both the participating country, that is, Cricket Australia (CA) and New Zealand Cricket (NZC), there will be a bilateral series between the Aussies and Kiwis, which will feature two Test Matches, to be played during the month of December, 2011. This tour will also feature in the Future Tour Program, an initiative of the ICC to promote cricket to every nook and cranny of the world, and encourage more people to follow the game.

Australia has recently undergone paradigm shift, as far as the structure and team constituent is concerned. But this does not imply they are a weak side. They are always prepared and focused to outplay their opponent in every department. Same has to be said about New Zealand, which is somewhat mercurial regarding their performance. In the recent past, New Zealand’s performance has not been top class, but they have played some decent cricket. This series will test both the side, and their respective weaknesses and strengths, along with their balance and reserve bench.

Australia vs New Zealand 2011 kick starts with the first Test Match, slated to be played at the legendary Brisbane Cricket Ground in Brisbane, on December 1, 2011 from 10:00 hour local time. After the completion of the first test, both teams will move to Hobart, where they will engage in the 2nd Test Match, which is supposed to begin from December 9. This is a relatively short tour, but an important one for both teams. New Zealand will be touring Australia after visiting Zimbabwe, while playing against the Kiwis will give the Australian contingent a boost for the upcoming Indian Series in December.
