Australia will tour India for the proposed two test and three ODI international matches to be played in the series. India v Australia matches have been popular throughout the decade where both team having equal chances to win.

Earlier Australia won the 7 ODI Series by 4-2 with one match abandon due to rain last year when Australia tour India.

Currently Australia and India both ranked in top three teams in One Day International ranking would be looking forward to seize the opportunity to win against each other and take their ranking points closer to No. 1 spot. Because of India being no. 1 in Test match rankings, BCCI proposed adding two test matches to keep their ranking intact at no.1 spot.

Ricky Ponting in an interview said, "Winning against India in sub continent, matters a lot. It's not easy to beat India who have always been leader at their own home"

For Mahendra Singh Dhoni beating the Australian team would not be easy. Australian team now has young cricketers having enthusiasm to improve their performance in the sub continent. Although this time, there would be no Shane Warne, McGrath or Hayden. Team would need to have consistency in their performance to give tough fight to well built Indian team at their own home.

Fact Criteria:

Total 16 test matches have been played between Australia v India since 2003 in which 6 matches have been draw while win percentage for both team has been equal having won 5 test matches each.

In ODI matches, Australia has been top against India. Of total 36 matches played, Australia won 22 Matches while India could only manage to win 9 Matches with 5 matches having no result at the end.
