South Africa will fly to Pakistan for the 3 Twenty-20 International matches and 2 Test matches series against Pakistan in the month of January in 2021. South Africa will tour to Pakistan after a long gap of 13 years. South Africa went to Pakistan in the year of 2007 last time for 5 One Day International and 2 Test matches. The 2 test matches series will be a part of the 2019-21 ICC World Test Championship. Cricket South Africa has given the confirmation of the tour after reviewing all the security in Pakistan. The tournament will start on 26th January and finish on 14th February. 
 
Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed and announced the dates and venues of the 2 Test and 3 T-20 international matches. The first test match of the series will be started at National Stadium in Karachi on 26th January 2021 and the second test match will be played from 4-8 February 2021 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi. The venue for all the three T20 international matches will not change and it will be Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The T20 matches series will be started from 11th February 2021 and the last match will be played on 14th February 2021. 
 
South Africa will reach Pakistan on 16th January and will be in isolation for the security purpose due to pandemic. South Africa played its last test match in 2007 at National Stadium of Karachi where SA won the test by 160 runs. South Africa defeated Pakistan in the 2007 test series by 1-0. 
 
Babar Azam will be the captain of Pakistan Cricket Team for all formats and on the other side, Quinton de Kock was appointed as the captain of South Africa cricket team. The current ICC Test ranking of South Africa is 6th whereas the Pakistan team is at number 7. On the other hand, ICC T20 ranking of South African is 5th and Pakistan is at 4th position. Both the teams have played 11 Test series in the last 25 years where South Africa won 7 and Pakistan won 1 Test series.
