England national cricket team has been invited to Sri Lanka for an international bilateral series that would take place in the final leg of 2014. The England V Sri Lanka bilateral series would be hosted by the island country and would start from the last half of November- and would continue till December. This international bilateral series is organized by ICC and is the part of FTP. The England V Sri Lanka 2014 cricket tournament would comprise of 7 One Day International matches and couple of warm-up games.

The England tour of Sri Lanka in the end quarter of the year will initiate with the warm up matches. The first warm-up match is scheduled for 21st November and would be hosted at Colombo based Sinhalese Sports Club. The 2nd warm-up match is a day after the 1st warm-up match and would be hosted by Tamil Union Oval located at the Lankan capital.  Both the Warm-up matches would be Day matches.

The 2nd warm-up match would be followed by as many as 7 ODI matches between the 2 powerful cricket nations. The 1st ODI of 2014 England V Sri Lanka is slated to be held on 26th November. It would be a day & night match and would be hosted at Colombo. The ODI captain for England is Alastair Cook while it is Angelo Mathews for Sri Lanka. Peter Moores would be coaching the English team and the Lankan team has got Marvan Atapattu as its coach.

Among all the 7 ODI matches, 4 will be Day/Night matches while 3 of them would be Day matches. Apart from Colmbo, the 2014 Sri Lanka V England ODI matches would be played at Hambantota and Pallekelle. The Sri Lanka versus England 2014 international bilateral series would finalize on December 16th with a Day/Night ODI match that would be held at Colombo.
