T20I cricket is the shortest format of international cricket in which both the teams get 20 overs each to bat. In T20I matches, there is a powerplay of the first 6 overs and only 2 folders are allowed outside the circle. The first World Cup for the shortest format of the game was started off by the ICC in 2007. Virat Kohli (INDIA)

Virat Kohli, the current captain of the Indian cricket team has made the most runs in the T20 matches and standing at the top 1 position. As of October 2021, Virat Kohli has appeared in 90 T20 International matches and made 3159 runs from his 84 innings. He has struck 28 half-centuries but is still waiting for a century in T20I. He has made 7 fifties against Australia, 5 against West Indies, and 4 against Sri Lanka & England each. Kohli’s run came at an outstanding average of 52.65 at the strike rate of 139.04. His best (94 unbeaten runs) came in the T20I match against West Indies at Hyderabad.

Martin Guptill (New Zealand)

Martin James Guptill, the right-hand batsman of the New Zealand cricket team is sitting at the number 2 position for the most runs in the T20 International. He has played 102 T20 matches and has scored 2939 from his 98 innings with an average of 32.30 and his strike rate is 136.82. He mostly comes to bat as an opener for his team and his best performance is 105 runs. He has bashed 2 centuries and 17 fifties with 257 4s and 147 6s in his T20 career. Guptill’s best performance of 105 runs was seen in the match against Australia in Auckland.

Rohit Sharma (India)

Rohit Sharma, the right-hand batsman of the Indian team is placed in the 3rd position for the most runs in the T20 International for his valuable contribution by his performance. In his 103 innings from 111 T20 international matches, Rohit has scored 2864 runs with a strike rate of 138.96 and an average of 32.18. He is one of the well-known power hitters who made his debut in a match against England at Kingsmead on Sep 19, 2007. His highest score is 118 runs that came in the match against Sri Lanka in Indore. 

Aaron Finch (Australia)

Aaron Finch, the right-hand batsman of the Australian cricket team, is placed at the number 4th position for the most runs in the T20 international matches. He mostly opens for Australia in T20I and is one of the power hitters with a strike rate of 150.24 and an average of 37.47. He has scored 2473 in 76 T20 matches and his best score is 172 runs. He is a Pakistani all-rounder who has scored 2429 runs from his 103 innings in 113 T20 matches with a strike rate of 120.97 and an average of 26.4 in his career. Mohammad Hafeez gave his best (99 runs)in the T20 match against New Zealand at Hamilton on Dec 20, 2020.
