82 Vs India, 2016

Sri Lanka Cricket Team LogoSri Lanka was knocked out for their lowest score, 82, by India. This is the lowest team total of Sri Lanka in T20I. The match was played at Visakhapatnam on 14 Feb 2016. In this T20I, Ashwin's 4 for 8 was the greatest figure by an Indian. The rest of Sri Lanka's innings had two problems: the ball was spinning enough, and the batters were concentrating on huge shots rather than forming partnerships. Even though the moving pitch made stroke-play tough, India reached their aim with 37 balls remaining under little pressure.

87 Vs Australia, 2010

The 2nd lowest team total of Sri Lanka is 87 runs against Australia at Bridgetown on 9 May 2010. It was the 20th match of the ICC World Twenty20 2010. The primary crushers of the Sri Lankan batting line-up were Dirk Nannes and Mitchell Johnson, but the triumph was mainly driven by Cameron White's explosive 85 from 49 balls, which saved his team from a dangerous 67 for 5. Mitchell Johnson made an excellent effort with the ball and took 3 wickets.

87 Vs India, Cuttack

The 3rd lowest team total of Sri Lanka is again 87 runs against India at Cuttack on 20 Dec 2017. Both teams were aware that Dew will play a factor in the first T20I at the Barabati Stadium. Sri Lanka selected just one specialized spinner, loaded their team with pace alternatives, and won the toss to gain an early edge. Sri Lanka's fast bowlers found it difficult and in the last two overs of India's innings, Nuwan Pradeep and Thisara Perera bowled five full-tosses, and India scored 61 runs in their final four overs. Yuzvendra Chahal ended with a four wickets for 23 runs only. Sri Lanka collapsed under pressure from India's bowlers and were bowled out at 87 while chasing.

91 Vs England, Southampton

91 is the 4th lowest team total of Sri Lanka team against England at Southampton on 26 Jun 2021. England openers, Jonny Bairstow & Dawid Malan, put on a century partnership for the first wicket to take a commanding lead in the match that they would never lose. Player of the Match was Dawid Malan, who batted fluently for 76 runs despite the sluggish quality of the wicket. Jonny Bairstow scored 51 runs. The rest of the game saw no one break the 20-point barrier. While chasing the target of 181 runs, Sri Lankan batsmen could make only 91 and bowled out in 18.5 overs.

92 Vs New Zealand, Lauderhill

The another lowest team total of Sri Lanka is 92 runs against New Zealand at Lauderhill on 22 May 2010. The sluggish and low pitch did not provide for a thrilling game, but New Zealand put up a valiant effort to reach 120 for 7. On the other hand, Sri Lanka battled and eventually collapsed for 92. The villain of the game was the pitch. It was neither a batting nor a bowling track. The surface was flat and lifeless, sucking the speed and swing out of the deliveries and making shot-making nearly difficult. Only two Sri Lankan batsmen were flexible to cope to the circumstances, and none stayed long enough in the chase to make a huge difference. Sri Lanka lost the match by 28 runs.
