Highest Opening Partnership in IPL

All teams want to get off to a solid start with the bat from the first overs of an IPL game. As the innings progresses, the tactics of the team are determined by the performance of the early batters. The other team's preparations may be thrown off if they get off to a good start. A terrible start, on the other hand, makes it harder to recover from an early loss. As a component of this post, we'll look at IPL's five highest opening partnership.

Check - Most Runs in IPL

Jonny Bairstow and David Warner

Jonny Bairstow and David Warner lit up the IPL 2019 with hundreds in the same game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. As a result, Bairstow struck 114 runs off 56 balls, while Warner scored 100 runs off 55 balls. SRH scored 231/2 in 20 overs after they put up 185 runs for the first wicket as the highest opening partnership in IPL. RCB fell to 113 runs and lost the game by 118 runs while targeting this total. It is no surprise that Bairstow was named man of the game for his magnificent century.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 auction, Bairstow was a relatively unknown player after not being sold in the previous edition. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) seems to be keen on the English wicketkeeper-batsman in the 12th edition's bidding process. Bairstow signed with the Hyderabad franchise for a fee of Rs 2.2 crore, according to the franchise. A year after the ball-tampering controversy, David Warner returned to the team. Warner's return was a success, scoring 85 against KKR and 69 against RR in his two innings.

Gautam Gambhir and Chris Lynn

A score of 183/4 in 20 overs was achieved by Gujarat Lions in their IPL 2017 match against Mumbai Indians. Suresh Raina, their captain, hit 68 runs off 51 balls for them. Gautam Gambhir and Chris Lynn scored unbeaten 184 runs for the first wicket to help KKR win the match by 10 wickets with 31 balls still to play in the innings. Gambhir's 76 runs came off 48 balls, while Lynn's 93 runs came off 41 balls.

KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal

Rahul Tewatia's blistering strike will live long in the minds of Rajasthan Royals supporters. But on the other side, Mayank Agarwal had just scored 106 runs off 50 balls in the first innings. An opening partnership of 183 runs between Mayank and KL Rahul enabled them to reach 223/2 in 20 overs. 69 runs were scored by Rahul off 54 balls, including seven fours and one six.

Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis

CSK’s openers made up for their dismal start to the season by throwing on a masterful performance of batting against Kings XI Punjab in the IPL. It was the year 2020, and CSK was chasing 179 runs against Punjab. Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis, who each hit over 80 runs in their innings, put up 181 runs for the first wicket. Shane Watson, who scored 83 runs off 53 balls, was named man of the match in the team's 10-wicket victory over Punjab on Sunday.

Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal

During the IPL 2021 season, Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli recorded a 181-run opening partnership for RCB. As a result of their excellent play, neither of them lost any wickets as they comfortably chased down the goal of 178 runs. As a result, Devdutt Padikkal scored 101 runs off 52 balls. It was an inning full of 11 fours and 6 sixes for him. Virat Kohli scored 72 runs off 47 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes.
