Highest Partnership in ODI

In any format of International Cricket, runs are made in partnerships by two players. When they build a huge partnership then it fires up the inning to a big total. A team put a huge total on the scoreboard when two batsmen knocked mammoth runs in pairs. Batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar, Chris Gayle, Saurav Ganguly, David Warner, Tamim Iqbal, Imam-ul-Haq, Q de Kock, Aamer Sohail, Yuvraj Singh and many more have already added huge runs with their partners in the past.

The highest partnership in ODI is 372 runs for the 2nd wicket scored by the West Indies’s most destructive batsman Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels in the 15th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 against Zimbabwe at Canberra on 24 Feb 2015. In that particular match, Chris Gayle played a stormy inning of 215 runs off 147 balls with sixteen 6s and ten 4s, whereas Marlon Samuels also struck a classy century. There have been 5 times when the batsmen knocked 300+ runs in pairs for any wicket in the history of One Day International.

The 2nd highest partnership in One Day International is 365 runs added by West Indies’s John Campbell and Shai Hope against Ireland at Dublin on 5 May 2019. In that specific ODI, John Campbell made 179 runs from 137 balls and Shai Hope struck 170 runs from 152 balls that helped the team to reach a bog total of 381 runs. West Indies won that match by 196 runs.

The 3rd highest runs in pairs in ODI is 331 runs made by lenegendary Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid for the 2nd wicket against New Zealand at Hyderabad (Deccan) on 8 Nov 1999. Sachin was phenomenal in that match and struck unbeaten 186 runs, on the other hand Rahul Dravid also added 153 runs that resulted in a big total of 376 runs on the scoreboard.

The 4th highest partnership is 318 runs for the 2nd wicket scored by Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid in the 21st match of the ICC World Cup 1999 against Sri Lanka at Taunton on 26 May 1999. The 5th highest is 304 runs for the 1st wicket recorded by Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo on 20 Jul 2018. Fakhar Zaman was impressive in that particular match and hit 210 runs off 156 balls, while Imam-ul-Haq also struck a century.
