Highest Individual Score in ODI in the First innings

In One Day International, when the batsmen of a cricket team are in form and make big runs then it strengthens the inning in the direction of a big total on the scoreboard. When a team puts a huge score then it also helps their bowler in the second inning to do practicals with the balls and become more attacking to take the wickets as they have got enough runs. There are many batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma, Martin Guptill, Shane Watson, Saeed Anwar, Sir Viv Richards, Sanath Jayasuriya, and many more who have already contributed a lot for their team with the bat.

The highest individual score in ODI in the 1st inning is 264 runs scored by Indian batsman Rohit Sharma against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 13th November 2014. It was the 4th ODI of the Sri Lanka tour of India 2014/15 series in which Rohit Sharma struck 264 runs off 173 balls with nine 6s and 33 boundaries that helped India to set a target of 405 runs for Sri Lanka.

The 2nd highest individual score in 1st inning in One Day International is unbeaten 237 runs scored by New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill in the quarter-final match of ICC World Cup 2014/15 against West Indies at Wellington on 21st March 2015. Martin Guptill played an incredible inning of unbeaten 237 from 163 balls with eleven 6s and twenty-four 4s that helped New Zealand to set a target of 394 for West Indies.

The 3rd highest score by any player in the first inning of ODI is 219 runs added by the Indian batsman Virendra Sehwag against West Indies at Holkar Stadium, Indore on 8th December 2011. Virendra Sehwag with his partner Gautam Gambhir and Suresh Raina struck 219 runs with the help of seven 6s and 25 boundaries that helped the Indian team to put a big total of 418 runs, that is the highest total of the Indian team in ODI, and India won the match by 153 runs.

For India, the 1st highest individual score in ODI in the first inning is 264 runs by Rohit Sharma against Sri Lanka. The 2nd one is 219 runs scored by Virendra Sehwag against West Indies at Indore. The third-highest individual score is again Rohit Sharma’s 209 runs against Australia at Bangalore.
