Highest 6th Wicket Partnership in T20 International
In the T20 International of 20 overs match, batsmen do not get enough time and balls to score big runs for the 6th wicket. A team depends on the lower middle order when its top and middle order completely fails. Players like Michael Hussey, Thisara Perera, PWH de Silva, Ravi Chandran Aswin bat at the lower middle order and have brought back the team into the game on several occasions and registered a victory for their team. In T20 format, every squad includes a player in the lower middle order, who can ball and bat as well if required. Some great shots or one big over in T20 cricket change the statistics of the entire game.

There is only one moment when an unbeaten partnership of 100+ runs for the 6th wicket was recorded in the history of T20 International. Cameron White and Michael Hussey added an unbeaten 101 runs for the sixth wicket against Sri Lanka in the ICC World Twenty20 2010 edition at Bridgetown on 9 May 2010. Half of the Australian team had returned back and then these two batsmen fought back and built a match-winning 6th wicket partnership in the history of T20 international. Another great 6th wicket partnership of 97 runs was made by Kusal Perera and Thisara Perera against Bangladesh at Colombo (RPS) on 16 Mar 2018. There are 83 times when a team scored more than 50 runs of partnership for the 5th wicket in the past record of T20 International. Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Pakistan, South Africa, England, all have scored more than 50 runs for the 6th wicket 5 times, then New Zealand 4 times, and India 3 times in the history of T20I.
The first 50+ runs of partnership for the 6th wicket was scored by Ricky Ponting and Mike Hussey against New Zealand at Auckland on 17 Feb 2005. For India, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yusuf Pathan struck more than 50 runs for the sixth wicket for the first time against England at Lord's on 14 Jun 2009. Hope to see some more great inning at the sixth wicket in Twenty20 international. The highest 6th wicket partnership for India in T20 International is 70 runs struck by Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya against England at Ahmedabad on 16 Mar 2021.
Other great 6th wicket partnerships are:
South Africa scored 69 runs as the highest 6th wicket partnership between Mark Boucher and Albie Morkel against India at Durban on 20 Sep 2007.
For England, Owais Shah and Dimitri Mascarenhas made unbeaten 69 runs for the 6th wicket against West Indies at The Oval on 29 Jun 2007.
The highest 6th wicket partnership for Pakistan is 71 runs added by Misbah-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik against England at Dubai (DSC) on 23 Feb 2012.
