Highest 3rd Wicket Partnership in T20 International

In the T20 cricket game of 20 overs, situations change suddenly and it becomes more menacing when a team loses its first two wickets very early. T20 is a quick game and the team needs to maintain the run-rate also. So, every team keeps its middle-order solid enough who can handle the pressure and take the scorecard to the defending total in batting first or win the match in the second batting. T20I is the short format where the match is limited to 20 overs and middle-order batsmen sometimes do not get enough time to make big partnerships. There are many names who have saved the match by their great performance in the middle order.

For example,  Hazratullah Zazai and Usman Ghani, who made a record partnership of 184 for New Zealand. AD Hales, Morgan, Guptill, Williamson, Rishab Pant, and many more.

There are 36 times when a middle-order pair made 100+ runs partnership for the third wicket in the history of T20 International. The first 100+ partnership for the 3rd wicket was struck by the Bangladesh middle-order batsmen, Aftab Ahmed and Mohammad Ashraful, against West Indies in the ICC World Twenty20 2007/2008 at Johannesburg on 13 Sep 2007. Aftab Ahmed and Mohammad Ashraful struck the 50 each for their team in that 5th match of ICC World Twenty20.

The highest 3rd wicket partnership of 184 runs was added to the record by DP Conway and GD Phillips against West Indies at Mount Maunganui on 29 Nov 2020. There are 4 moments when the Indian team struck a partnership of 100 runs for the 3rd wicket in the T20I. For India, the first 100+ Partnership was made by V Kohli and SK Raina against Australia in Adelaide on 26 Jan 2016 and this is the highest 3rd wicket partnership for India.

The middle-order batsmen of England and South Africa have the record of scoring the maximum times i.e 5 times 100+ runs 3rd wicket partnership in T20 International and then India comes after who registered 4 times 100+ runs in the middle order as a 3rd wicket partnership, then Pakistan 3 times, South Africa 4 times, and West Indies 1 time.
