The final was an M S Dhoni tale. However, the bowling grit of Bhuvneshwar Kumar seemed to have taken a back seat at the time of appreciation. But this was only for some time as Kumar was awarded the Man of the Series title for Celkon Cup tri series tournament for his splendid bowling performance overall the series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was also awarded the Man of the Match award in one of the four matches India played before the final of the tri series.
The figures which Bhuvneshwar Kumar produced through his bowling were not staggering enough to fetch him the coveted award but were also most welcome for the Indian side, as India had been in search for a quality pace bowler who could deliver on a consistent basis after the heydays of Zaheer Khan faded away in the injury tangles. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 10 wickets with bowling average, strike rate and economy rate envious to every bowler in the three participating teams.
