The test matches are the only format of cricket which is not played under lights. However, in the recent times, there have been some discussions about organizing the day night test matches and use pink balls in them in order to increase the popularity of this format. The test matches came into existence more than 100 years ago. The first ever test match was played between England and Australia in 1877. The venue hosting that test match was Melbourne.
