The Trinbago Knight Riders are the most successful franchise in the history of the Caribbean Premier League. TKR is based in the city of Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago. The home ground of the franchise is Queen’s Park Oval. TKR in the CPL and KKR in the IPL are both running under the same group, the Knight Riders Group.
The franchise won the CPL four times out of nine times. They won the title in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2020. However, they were not able to defend their title last year and ended up in third place in 2021. But they are still the best franchises in the CPL’s history. Keiron Pollard is one of the best captains in the tournament, while Imran Jan is the coach of the team.
Trinbago Knight Riders 2022 squad
The Trinbago Knight Riders are the only team in CPL history to have finished in the top four in every season. However, their record in the finals is very clean. They have played four finals and won all four. So the franchise has picked up players with a clear plan so that they can get their trophy back in the upcoming season.
There was no doubt the franchise went to retain their core players in the draft. They retained skipper Keiron Pollard, all-rounder Sunil Narine, and Akeal Hosein, Jayden Seals, and Tio Webster. On the other hand, TKR made the headlines after picking the hard-hitting all-rounder Andre Russell for the team.
Apart from him, they signed Nicholas Pooran, Colin Munro, and Tim Seifert to strengthen their team. Speaking of the bowling picks, the franchise went for Maheesh Theekshana to partner with Sunil Narine in the middle overs.
