Founded in July 2021, “The Hundred” competition in England has successfully hosted two seasons so far. The third edition is just a few weeks away from starting. It will start with a game between two champions. The defending champion Trent Rockets will take on the former champion Southern Brave in the first game of the competition on August 1 at Trent Bridge.
Eight teams will compete in this unique tournament to become champions this season. The defending champions will look to make it two out of two, but the recently concluded Hundred 2023 draft has complicated things. Based on Nottingham City, the Trent Rockets have made some good purchases and retained those players who helped the team win the championship. So let’s check the complete details of their squads for the coming season.
Trent Rockets Complete Squad 2023
Lewis Gregory will be leading the team for the third consecutive season. Andy Flower is the head coach of the men’s team. Former English skipper Joe Root is the central contracted player in the team. Apart from these, the franchise retained 11 players from the last season, when they won the tournament, beating Manchester Originals in the final. It means that we will see almost the same set of players that played last season will be playing in the coming edition as well.
Apart from Root and Gregory, the batting order will have the likes of Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, and Colin Munro, which adds firepower to the batting order. Rashid Khan and Samit Patel will be the two spinners in the team. They have released eight players, with Tabraiz Shamsi and Marchant de Lange being some of the big names. Though the franchise released Tom Kohler-Cadmore, it later picked him up in the draft.

Just like the last edition, Dawid Malan and Alex Hales will be the keys to the batting unit. They did a brilliant job last season and will be expected to do the same this season. Root didn’t feature in the last season due to national duties. So it will be interesting to see whether he will be part of this season or not.
