The much-awaited schedule for the 2023 ODI World Cup was announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday. India is all set to host the marquee event between October and November later this year. The top ten ranked teams across the globe will compete in the tournament to make it worth watching. Eight teams have been finalized on the basis of rankings, while two spots are vacant as of now.
Two teams from the World Cup Qualifier 2023 in Zimbabwe will make it to the remaining spots in the ODI World Cup. As the host country, India automatically qualified for the tournament. However, it will be a great opportunity for the Indian team to win a major ICC tournament at home. Notably, India won the 2011 edition under MS Dhoni, when they hosted it. However, it is the first time that India is solely hosting the World Cup at home. They have hosted the tournament three times before, with Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
