Sydney Sixers (197/5) vs Sydney Thunder in 2022
The Sydney Sixers scored their third highest total against the Sydney Thunders. It was scored in the 49th game of the 2022 season at the SCG. The Thunders won the toss and decided to bowl first. Despite losing their first wicket, Jack Edwards (2), the Stars had two good partnerships in the middle. Josh Philippe made a 32-ball fifty and scored 57 off 35, while Daniel Hughes hit a 37-ball fifty and made 66 off 48.
In the end, a cameo from skipper Moises Henriques helped the Sixers reach a total of 197/5. He scored an unbeaten 47 from 27 balls with four boundaries and one six. With a target of 198 runs to chase, the Thunder had a struggling start, losing three wickets in the powerplay. In the end, they made 137/9 and lost the game by 60 runs.
Sydney Sixers (205/4) vs Melbourne Renegades in 2020
The second highest BBL score for the three-time champion Sydney Sixers came in the 2020 season. It was the 6th game of the tournament against the Melbourne Renegades at the Hobart Stadium. The Renegades won the toss and chose to bowl first. Josh Philippe gave the Sixers a brilliant start and kept up the scoring rate. He was unlucky to fall five short of a well-deserved century.
He made 95 off 57 balls, with nine fours and three sixes. In the end, Jordan Silk played a brilliant cameo of 45 not out from 19 balls to help his team reach a big total of 205/4 in their first innings. Chasing a huge total, the Renegades had the worst possible start and lost half their team for 38 runs. They got all out for just 60 runs in 10.4 overs and lost the game by 145 runs.
Sydney Sixers (213/4) vs Melbourne Stars in 2021
The Sydney Sixers have crossed the 200-run mark twice so far. Their highest BBL total came in the 2021 season, in the first match against the Melbourne Stars at the SCG. The Stars won the toss and elected to bowl first. But that decision didn’t end well. The Sixers had two big partnerships to start their inning. They added 90 and 102 for the first two wickets, respectively.
It helped them reach a target of 213/4, which is their highest in the tournament. Josh Philippe made 83 off 47 balls, while James Vince scored 44 off 29 balls. Skipper Moises Henriques made an unbeaten 76 off 38 balls with eight fours and three sixes. But the Stars had a contrasting batting performance, and they got all out for their lowest total of 61 runs in 11.1 overs. Thus, the Sydney Sixers won that game by 152 runs.
