The Sydney Sixers are among the top two most successful teams in the Big Bash League, along with the Perth Scorchers. The Sixers have won the league three times in total. In fact, they were the inaugural season winners in 2011 when they beat the Perth Scorchers in the final. After that, they won successive titles in 2019 and 2020.
Apart from winning the league, they also played three seasons where they ended as runners-up in the 2014, 2016, and 2021 seasons, respectively. Over the seasons, seven players have led the Sixers in the BBL. And we will cover the list of captains that have led the Sydney Sixers in the league.

4. Brad Haddin (led in 16 games)
Former Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin was the first player to lead the three-time BBL winners in history. He led in a few games in 2011 and during his tenure. Haddin led the Sixers in 16 games during his tenure winning games with five defeats. He played 32 games overall for them and scored 735 runs with four half-centuries and a best of 76.
3. Daniel Hughes (Captain in BBL 2020)
Australian opening batter Daniel Hughes is one of seven players to captain the three-time champion, Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. He has been part of the Sydney franchise since 2012 and is the fourth-highest run scorer for them. He has played 85 games and scored 1965 runs at an average of 28.07 with 13 half-centuries. Under his captaincy, the Sixers have played 15 games and won 10, while losing 5.
2. Steve Smith (led Sydney Sixers to BBL 2011 win)
Former Australian skipper Steve Smith was the first ever captain to lead a BBL side to the victory. He led the Sydney Sixers to lift the trophy in the inaugural season of 2011. They beat the Perth Scorchers in the final. However, due to national duties, Smith does not play regularly in the BBL. Smith has captained 11 games and won eight of them, with two losses and one tie. He played 35 games for them and scored 1060 runs at a decent average of 40.76 and a strike rate of 138.38.
1. Moises Henriques (led Sydney Sixers to BBL 2019 and 2020 win)
Moises Henriques is the most-capped captain in the history of the Big Bash League. He joined the Sydney Sixers in their inaugural season in 2011 and has since become an integral part of the team. He started captaining in a few games here and there in 2013, but became the full-time captain in 2018. Under his captaincy, the Sixers won back-to-back titles in the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Henriques has led the franchise in 94 games (most for any captain) and has 54 wins, 34 losses, three ties, and three games that ended in a no-result.
