T20 cricket is becoming the favorite form of the game for fans. It is because everyone loves to see boundaries and wickets in a short span of time. And the T20 cricket offers all these things to the fan. After the introduction of the Indian Premier League, a number of countries developed their own T20 leagues, which offered a handsome amount of money to attract players from around the world.

Now, the United States has taken a step to promote cricket locally and has come up with its own T20 tournament, which is called the Major Cricket League. The first edition of the much-awaited MLC 2023 is scheduled to start on July 13 (Thursday) and conclude with the final on July 30. A total of 19 games will be played between six different teams in this tournament. Each team will play five group matches, and the top four will play in the playoffs.

Six teams will play in the inaugural MLC season. One of the six teams based in the US city of San Francisco will also take part in the competition. It will be known as the San Francisco Unicorns, which will play their home games at Santa Clara County Fairgrounds Stadium. This team is owned by Anand Rajaraman and Venky Harinarayan, who are the co-founders of Cambrian Ventures. The San Francisco Unicorns will start their tournament with a game against MI New York on July 14 (Friday) at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas. San Francisco Unicorns: Squad and Coaching Staff

The franchise has named former Australia T20 World Cup-winning captain Aaron Finch to lead the side in the MLC 2023. Former Australian star Shane Watson has got the responsibilities as the head coach of the team. The franchise picked up a total of 12 players in the inaugural MLC draft 2023. Former Kiwi superstar Corey Anderson and Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis are the other two big names in the team.

However, this team has picked up many overseas stars and big names. They have also mainly invested in local talent. On the other hand, they have also picked up two international pacers in Liam Plunkett and Lungi Ngidi. These two have a huge amount of experience in this format. There are some more. The franchise has also signed the Pakistani duo of Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf. So we will see some Pakistani players in this tournament as well.
