IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals had a brilliant performance in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. But still they would consider themseleves unlucky that they could finish the bussiness and after coming so close to the title, they lost the final to Gujarat Titans. But now RR will look to complete the unfinished business in the next edition of the league.
The franchise has kept almost the same set of players that performed last season. But they have also added some interesting names to their squad during the auction. Now this team is looking better than the previous season. So, let’s take a look at the best bowling combination for RR in the IPL 2023.
Best Bowlers for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023
The Rajasthan Royals made some wise moves at the auction. Picking up Jason Holder and Adam Zampa in particular has certainly boosted their bowling attack.
5. Jason Holder
Former West Indian captain Jason Holder has a brilliant brain in his head. He is a three-dimensional cricketer with the premier skill of pace bowling. Holder has been the best bowler for the West Indies in the last 5–6 years and also did well in the IPL. He was part of the Lucknow Super Giants in 2022, and now he will play for RR. Holder took 14 wickets in 12 games for LSG and overall has 49 IPL wickets in 38 games in his career.
4. Prasidh Krishna
Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowler for RR in the last season when they made it to the final. He took 19 wickets in the 2022 season at an economy rate of 8.29. He did a great job with Trent Boult and was picking regular wickets. Prasidh has improved a lot since his IPL debut, and now he is among the most consistent performers in the IPL. That was the reason the franchise invested INR 10 crore in him.
3. Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravi Ashwin is among the leading spinners in the world right now. He was one of the prime reasons that Yuzi Chahal was so successful for RR in the last season. Because Ashwin used to bowl tight lines to put the pressue and Chahal was taking wickets from the other end. The veteran off-spinner took 12 wickets in the last season at an economy rate of 3/17. He will surely be the perfect partner for Chahal in the coming season.
2. Trent Boult
Trent Boult is among the top left-arm pacers in modern day cricket across all three formats. He is equally effective both upfront and in the finals overs. That’s what he did for RR in 2022. Boult took a total of 16 wickets last season at an economy rate of 7.94. He will be among the top players that will be required if RR wants to do well in the 2022 edition. And he is definitely a threat for the opposition batters.
1. Yuzi Chahal
Why worry if you have the “purple cap” holder from the 2022 season? Yuzi Chahal ended as the highest wicket-taker in the last season for RR. He was as important for them as Jos Buttler in the batting. Chahal took 27 wickets in 17 games with a best figure of 5/40. The leg-spinner will be among the favourites to win the “purple cap” in the coming season, and RR will be relying on him in the middle overs.
