IPL Auction 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore has a large fanbase and is arguably one of the most followed T20 franchises in the world. Despite the fact that they haven’t won an IPL title so far in 15 years, RCB has gained immense popularity around the world. They came close to winning the last edition but finished in third place. That is why the franchise hasn’t done much experimenting with their squads for the upcoming edition of the IPL.
The franchise expended a huge amount of INR 55.35 crore in the last edition’s auction. On the other hand, they retained Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj for a price of INR 33 crore. At the end of the 2022 auction, they were left with a purse value of INR 1.55 crore. The franchise has kept almost the same team ahead of the upcoming auction in December.
IPL Auction 2023: Retained Player for RCB
There is no doubt that RCB did pretty well in the last season. That is why the franchise has kept almost the same set of players within the team. There is not choping and changing within the big names like other franchises. Faf du Plessis will be seen leading the team in the next season as well. Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Dinesh Karthik will be the other big names in the team.
Rajat Patidar and Shahbaz Ahmed, who were the finds of the last season for the RCB, have been retained. Mohammad Siraj, Harshal Patel, Siddarth Kaul, Akash Deep, and David Willey will handle the pace duties on the team. Overall, they have kept the same team that played last season. So we might not see much change in the starting XI either.
The biggest confidence booster for the fans will be the form of former captain Virat Kohli. Virat was not at his best in the last season, despite the fact that RCB made it to third place. And now he’s shown the world his best version yet, which will undoubtedly aid RCB’s performance.

Remaining Purse Value for Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB has released all of their big names, on which they spent huge money. As a result, RCB hasn’t have much amount left. They actually have the second-lowest remaining purse value of INR 8.75 crore. The team appears to be the same as it was last season, but RCB would like to sign a fast-bowling all-rounder to give them the right balance.
