England is known as the country that introduced the game of cricket to the world. They were the first team to play this sport and then other teams also joined in. England were part of both first official test and ODI in March 1877 and January 1971 against Australia. In their rich history, England played three ODI World Cup finals in 1979, 1987, 1992, respectively.
But their maiden success came at home in 2019 when they won the ODI World Cup under the leadership of Eoin Morgan. It will not be a wrong statement to say that Morgan changed the dynamics of the game for England and made them a dangerous modern-day team. Apart from World Cup, England also ended as runner-up in 2004 and 2013 Champions Trophy. The English team achieved the No. 1 ranking in the ODI cricket for the first time on 1 January 1981.
