RCB: Royal Challengers Bangalore is one of the most followed T20 franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). It is followed not just in India but all over the world. That is because these teams have some of the biggest names in cricket. The likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, Chris Gayle, and many more have represented the franchise in the IPL.
And with such a big name in the batting, the average score of a team should be higher. Notably, RCB holds the record for the highest IPL total in the history of the tournament.

In this article, we will discuss the highest totals ever achieved by RCB in the IPL.
3. RCB (235/1) vs MI in 2015 season
The third highest total for Bangalore came in the 2015 season. It was the 46th match of the tournament between RCB and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede. Bangalore won the toss and decided to bat first. They didn’t have a good start, and Chris Gayle (13 off 12) got out early. But after that, the world saw a massive partnership between the two greats of the game. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers added an unbeaten stand of 215 runs in 16.5 overs.
De Villiers scored a brilliant century. He made 133* off just 59 balls, with 19 fours and four sixes. Virat also supported him well and made 82* off 50 balls, with six fours and four sixes. In their 20 overs, RCB scored their third highest total of 235/1. In reply, MI also tried hard but could only manage 196/7 in 20 overs and Bangalore won the match by 39 runs.
2. RCB (248/3) vs Gujarat Lions in 2016 season
Bangalore went on to score their second highest total in 2016 against the Gujarat Lions. It was the 44th game of the tournament at Bengaluru. Gujarat won the toss and chose to bowl first. But that decision totally went against them. RCB did lose Chris Gayle (8) early, but once again it was Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers that added a record-breaking partnership. This time they added 219 runs for the second wicket.
Both batters also reached their respective centuries, which is quite rare in T20 games. Virat scored 109 off 55 balls, including 5 fours and 8 sixes. De Villiers made an unbeaten 129 off 52 balls, with 10 fours and 12 sixes. RCB made a massive score of 248/3 in their 20 overs. It needed an incredible effort for Gujarat to chase down the massive total. But they failed with the bat too. The whole team got out for just 104 in 18.4 overs. Thus, Bangalore had a huge win of 144 runs.
1. RCB (263/5) vs Pune Warriors in 2013 season
The highest RCB total, which is also the highest total in the IPL, came in 2013 season against Pune Warriors. It was the 31st game of the tournament at Bengaluru, and Pune won the toss and chose to bowl. Bangalore got off to a flying start courtesy of Chris Gayle. Both openers added 167 runs for the first wicket in 13.4 overs. Tillakaratne Dilshan got out after scoring 33 off 36 balls.
But Gayle carried on till the very last over. The left-hander went on to break all the IPL records and remained not out through the innings. He registered the highest ever individual score in the IPL. Gayle scored 175* off 66 balls with 13 fours and 17 sixes. Thus, RCB scored the highest IPL total of 263/5 in their 20 overs. In response, Pune had a horrible day and they only managed to score 133/9 in their 20 overs. As a result, Bangalore won that match by a massive margin of 130 runs.
