PBKS Most Expensive Player in IPL 2023

PBKS: Punjab Kings ended the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League at 6th place. The last time they qualified for the playoffs was in 2014, when Glenn Maxwell led them to the final. 5. Shikhar Dhawan – INR 8.25 Crore

Veteran Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan is among the highest run-scorers in the league. In fact, he is the second highest scorer with 6244 runs in 206 games, including two centuries and 47 half-centuries. Punjab Kings signed the left-hander in the 2022 auction for a price of INR 8.25 crore, and he will be leading the team in the coming season. He is their fifth-costliest player in the IPL 2023. Dhawan scored 460 runs at 38.33 in the last season for PBKS.

4. Shahrukh Khan – INR 9 Crore

Shahrukh Khan has established himself as a hard-hitting finisher on the Indian domestic circuit. That is why, when he was in the IPL auction 2022, a number of teams tried to acquire him. But at last it was Punjab Kings, who roped him in at a price of INR 9 crore, which is a huge amount for an Indian uncapped player. Thus, he is their fourth-costliest player going forward in the next season. He was unable to prove himself in 2022, but there will be high expectations for him in the following edition. 

3. Kagiso Rabada – INR 9.25 Crore

Kagiso Rabada is one of the biggest bowling stars across formats and at any level of the game. He is just phenomenal at what he does with the ball. He can bowl upfront, and at the death as well, he is equally good. That’s why the franchise paid INR 9.25 crore to get him in the 2022 season, and he is their third-costliest player in IPL 2023. Rabada was excellent for PBKS last season. He took 23 wickets in 13 games, with a best of 4/33.

2. Liam Livingstone – INR 11.5 Crore

There are not many who can match the hitting ability that Liam Livingstone brings to the table. In the shorter format of cricket, his name is among the hardest hitters. That is why his demand is huge in the T20 leagues across the world. Livingstone was signed by the Punjab Kings in 2022 for a price of INR 11.5 crore, and he is the second most expensive player for the franchise in the coming season. He scored 437 runs in 14 games in 2022 at an incredible strike rate of 182.08.

1. Sam Curran – INR 18.5 crore

Sam Curran just had the best of 2022, starting with winning the T20 World Cup with England and winning “Man of the Tournament” in the world cup. But his biggest price came in the IPL auction 2023, when he broke all records. Curran made his IPL debut with PBKS, which is why they were keen to get him back. In the end, Punjab spent a record INR 18.5 crore on the all-rounder, making him the most expensive player in IPL history ever.
