Pakistan played their first ODI match in 1972 against New Zealand. However, they lost that match by 22 runs, but it was the start of their ODI cricket legacy. After 18 months, Pakistan went to England and won the series by 2-0 and registered their first ever ODI series win. And today, they are one of the strongest sides in the world of cricket.
The Men in Green, under the leadership of Babar Azam, are ranked third in the ICC ODI team rankings. They have become a strong unit and are among the teams that have won the World Cup. They won their maiden ODI World title in 1992 under the captaincy of Imran Khan. However, in this article, we will cover one unwanted record. So let’s check it out.

3. Pakistan all out for 74 runs against England in Adelaide
It was the 13th match of the 1992 Benson & Hedges World Cup between England and Pakistan in Adelaide. After winning the toss, England chose to bowl first. The English bowling attack came hard at Pakistan and didn’t let any batter score any runs at all. It was a horrible day for Pakistan, and they were all out for 74 runs in 40.2 overs.
Only three batters crossed the 10-run mark. Chasing the target, England were 24/1 in 8 overs and due to rain the match got abandoned. And it ended with no result. Pakistan was lucky that after getting all out for just 74, they didn’t face the defeat.
2. Pakistan all out for 71 runs against West Indies in Brisbane
It was another match in the Benson & Hedges World Series in 1993. This was the 9th match of the tournament between Pakistan and West Indies in Brisbane. Pakistan chose to bat first after they won the toss. But the decision to bat first went horribly wrong. The Men in Green, under the leadership of Javed Mianded, got all out for 71 runs.
Rashid Latif was the top scorer with 22 runs, and nine batters got out with under 10 runs. With such a low target, the West Indies started well with the bat. They chased down the target in 19.2 overs and made 72/1. The West Indies won that match by nine wickets and more than 30 overs to spare.
1. Pakistan all out for 43 runs against West Indies (Fifth lowest ever in ODI cricket)
The lowest score for Pakistan came in the 9th match of the Total International Series in 1993. They played against the West Indies in Cape Town. The Caribbean team won the toss and chose to bowl first. Batting first became a nightmare for Pakistan. They got all out for just 43 runs, with only one batter getting past the three-figure mark. Six Pakistani battes got out for ducks.
Pakistan registered their lowest ever total in ODI history. The West Indies also lost three wickets, but they chased down the target in 12.3 overs. They made 45/3 and won the match by seven wickets with 225 balls to spare. Courtney Walsh won the “Man of the Match” for his 4/16.
