The third edition of one of the most unique cricket competitions in the world is about to kick off. It is The Hundred in England, which will start on August 1 in Nottingham with a match between the Trent Rockets and the Southern Brave. The upcoming season will have a total of eight teams playing 34 games, including the final on August 27.
Northern Superchargers will also look to try their luck and win their maiden title in the third edition. The franchise is based on the English city of Leeds and represents the county clubs of the North East and Yorkshire. Both the men’s and women’s teams play their home matches at Headingley. They will start their campaign on August 3 (Thursday) with a match against the last season’s finalists, Birmingham Phoenix, at Leeds.
Northern Superchargers Complete Squad 2023
The Superchargers ended the last season in 6th place after winning four matches out of 8. However, they will look to improve their performances for the upcoming season and make a mark in the competition. James Foster is the head coach of the team, while the captain has yet to be decided.
One of the biggest names in English cricket, Ben Stokes, is the central contracted player in the team. David Wiese and Wayne Parnell are the overseas players who have been retained. On the other hand, the franchise has picked Michael Bracewell and Bas de Leede as their overseas picks at the draft. Bracewell might not be available as he is injured and is on his rehab.
Apart from that, some big English names like Adil Rashid, Harry Brook, Tom Banton, and Reece Topley will be part of the team in the coming season. They have released the likes of Dwayne Bravo, Faf du Plessis, Wahab Riaz, and David Willey ahead of the draft.
