The coming ODI World Cup will be grand because the top ten teams will be taking part in it. This will be the first time that the two-time champion West Indies will not be part of the World Cup event. They are replaced by the Netherlands, who qualified along with Sri Lanka through the World Cup Qualifiers. The tournament will start on October 5 with a game between England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad.
Ten teams will fight to become champions. A total of 48 games will be played in the competition, including the final on November 19 in Ahmedabad. This tournament will be played across ten different venues in India. Each team will face the other nine teams once in the group stage, and the top four will make it to the semi-finals. Before the start of the tournament, every participating nation will play two warm-up games to get used to the conditions offered in India.

Netherlands stunned everyone when they qualified for the World Cup in India after finishing in second place in the World Cup Qualifiers. This will be the fourth appearance for this team in the mega event. They were part of the 2011 World Cup last time, which was also played in India. The Cricket Board announced a 15-member squad for the World Cup on Thursday.
It saw the return of some veterans to the team. Wicketkeeper Scott Edwards will lead the side. Veterans Roelof van der Merwe and Colin Ackermann make their return to the team. This will give the team much-needed experience with their presence. The team is looking well balanced with 5–6 all-rounders.
