IPL 2023: Three Incredible records held by MS Dhoni in the IPL
1. Half-century batting at five different position in the IPL

MS Dhoni is one of the best finishers that the game has ever seen. But many don’t know that he is equally good at the top of the order as well. The former Indian skipper has played many cameos coming up the order. It was initially during his career when he used to play as a floater. And who can forget his innings in the finals of the 2011 ODI World Cup, when he promoted himself ahead of the in-form Yuvraj Singh and won the match for India?
And that’s what he has done in the IPL as well. He has promoted himself many times up the order, from number 3 to 7. He holds a unique record of scoring a half-century at five different positions in the IPL. The right-hander has had a 50+ score batting from No. 3 to 7.
2. Only player to hit more than 500+ runs in 20th over in the IPL

The former Indian holds the record for finishing the maximum number of games with six. And it reflects the finishing ability of the former CSK skipper. As per the stats, he is one of the best or the best batter in the 20th over of the innings in the IPL. Dhoni is leading the chart by scoring the maximum number of runs in the 20th over. He has scored a total of 554 runs in the last over of the innings.
The Captain Cool has scored 12.67% of his IPL runs in the 20th over. He has also smashed 46 of his 206 sixes in the very last over of the innings. The second best batter is Mumbai Indian all-rounder Keiron Pollard, who has 281 runs in the final over. And it shows the ability of the IPL legend.
3. Only Captain to win 100+ games in the history of the IPL

MS Dhoni is the only captain in the history of the Indian Premier League with 100+ wins as a captain. MSD is not a captain anymore, but this record is impossible for anyone to break. Dhoni led the team from 2008 till the last season of 2021, winning four IPL titles and two Champions Trophies (2010 and 2014). He has led his team in 204 matches and won 121 of them, for a win percentage of 59.60.
He is also the only player to captain his own coaches in the IPL. Head Coach Stephen Fleming played under him in the 2008 season. Batting coach Michael Hussey and Lakshmipathy Balaji have both played under Dhoni for seven and three seasons, respectively.
