The Asia Cup is a big tournament that is played once every two years between the top Asian teams. The first edition took place in 1984, which was pretty successful, and so far, 15 editions have taken place. This tournament is organized in a 50-over format. But over time, it underwent some changes, and the T20 format was introduced in 2016.
So far, two editions have been played in T20 format (in 2016 and 2022). India and Sri Lanka won one each. There have been many star bowlers who played in those editions. In this article, we will talk about the highest wicket-taker in T20 Asia Cup history.

5. Rashid Khan (AFG)
Rashid Khan needs no introduction to the game. The Afghan superstar has taken many wickets in shorter formats at different levels and did the same in the Asia Cup. He played in both T20 editions and featured in eight matches. Rashid picked up 11 wickets at a decent economy rate of 6.51, with the best of 3/22.
4. Mohammad Naveed (UAE)
UAE played in the 2016 edition, and pacer Mohammad Naveed was the pick of the bowlers for his team in that edition. In seven games, he took a total of 11 wickets at a brilliant economy rate of 5.24. His bowling average was just 13.18, with a best bowling figure of 3/14.
3. Al-Amin Hossain (BAN)
Former Bangladeshi pacer Al-Amin Hossain is another bowler who did well in the 2016 season. Bangladesh reached the final of the tournament but lost to India. But Al-Amin did well throughout the tournament. He picked up 11 wickets in just five innings at a strike rate of 9.18 and an economy rate of 7.96, including a best of 3/25.
2. Amjad Javed (UAE)
Former UAE all-rounder Amjad Javed also played in the 2016 edition and did well. He was the second-highest wicket-taker in that season. Though UAE didn’t win a single game but Amjad was one of their stars. He played 7 games and took 12 wickets at an economy rate of 7.34 and a best of 3/25.
1. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (IND)
Veteran Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar played one game in the 2016 edition and five matches in 2022. He is the highest wicket-taker in the T20 Asia Cup. Bhuvi played a total of 6 games in this tournament and dismissed a total of 13 batters, including a best of 5/4 and an economy rate of 5.34. He is the only bowler with a five-wicket haul in the T20 Asia Cup.
