BBL: The T20 season is at its peak, with the T20 World Cup just a few weeks away. However, after the WT20, the world will see another exciting T20 tournament, which will treat its fans to many amazing matches. We are talking about the 12th edition of the Big Bash League. The BBL 2022 will take place on December 13, when Sydney Thunder will face Melbourne Stars.
The four-time champions and defending champions, Perth Scorchers, will be defending their title in this competition. This season will see a total of 61 games played among 8 teams. 5. Glenn Maxwell (18 half-centuries)
Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is in fifth place with the most half-centuries. He has been part of the league since its first season in 2011. Maxwell has played for only two franchises in his career; the Melbourne Renegades and the Melbourne Stars. He has played 100 BBL matches and scored 2673 runs at an average of 33.83 and a strike rate of 150.84. The all-rounder has also scored two centuries and 18 half-centuries with a high score of 154*.
4. D’Arcy Short (20 half-centuries)
Next on the list is D’Arcy Short, who is known for his all-round skills in the competition. The left-hander made his BBL debut in 2016 for the Hobart Hurricanes and since then, he has been with the team. In his BBL career, Short has played 72 games and is already among the top run-getters in the competition. He has scored 2553 runs at an average and strike rate of 39.89 and 133.66. Short has also hit two centuries and 20 half-centuries with a high score of 122*.
3. Shaun Marsh (22 half-centuries)
Another opener is on the list and this time it is veteran left-hander Shaun Marsh. He has been part of the tournament since the inaugural season in 2011 and has played for two franchises. He has represented the Melbourne Renegades and Perth Scorchers in his BBL career. Marsh has played 68 games and scored 2398 runs at an average of 39.96 and a strike rate of 128.57, along with 22 half-centuries.
2. Aaron Finch (22 half-centuries)
Australian white-ball skipper Aaron Finch is second on the list with the most half-centuries. The veteran opener made his BBL debut in the inaugural season of 2011 for the Melbourne Renegades and has been with the same franchise till now. He has played 87 games so far in his BBL career and scored 2817 runs, which is the second-highest run-getter in the competition. Finch has also scored two centuries and 22 half-centuries, with a highest score of 111*.
1. Chris Lynn (24 BBL half-centuries)
There is only one man who holds almost all the batting records in the BBL. He is none other than the dangerous opener, Chris Lynn. The 32-year-old made his debut in the first season with the Brisbane Heat in 2011. Since then, he has been part of the same team in the competition. Lynn has played 102 matches and has scored the most runs in the competition, with the most sixes and most 50+ scores. He has scored 3005 runs, including one century and 24 fifties, along with 180 sixes.
