Most four-wicket haul in T20 World Cup 

T20 World Cup: T20 cricket is a cruel game for any bowler because the margin for error is very small. Batsmen are always going after the ball. So it makes the life of any bowler difficult. And it is not every day that a bowler takes four wickets in a match, given they can only bowl 24 balls in the match. Things can get very difficult if you are the bowler.

But it also happens that a bowler delivers the match-winning performance. The best way is to take wickets for the team; that will automatically slow down the run-rate. And there are a few instances when bowlers change the scenario of the match completely. So in this article, we will look at the list of bowlers with the most four-wicket hauls in the T20 World Cup.

3. Ajantha Mendis (Sri Lanka): Two Times

Sri Lanka has always produced the best spinners in the game of cricket. Over the years, this legacy has been going on continuously. Ajantha Mendis is one of those talents that emerged as the mystery spinner in the world, and in a very short time, he became the talking point in the game. 

Mendis had played in four T20I World Cups and was one of the main reasons for Sri Lanka’s 2014 glory. Overall, he has played 21 matches and picked up 35 wickets at a decent economy of 6.70. He has taken two four-wicket hauls in which there is a fifer as well.

2. Morne Morkel (South Africa) : 2 times

South Africa is a land of world-class pacers and over the years they have given the world some very fine pacers. Morne Morkel may not have been the fastest bowler, but he certainly used his skills and accuracy to maximum effect. The tall, fast-bowler is second on the list. He has played in five World Cups for the Proteas and has done a terrific job with the ball.

Morne had played 17 matches in the T20I World Cup and had taken 24 wickets at an economy rate of 7.21 with a best figure of 4/17. He has taken a four-wicket haul twice in the ICC event, so he makes it to second on the list.  

1. Saeed Ajmal (Pakistan) : Three times

A total of five bowlers have taken the four-wicket haul twice in the T20 World Cup. However, only one bowler has taken four or more wickets three times in the ICC event. That is none other than the Pakistani off-spinner and certainly one of the best, Saeed Ajmal. He is also the second highest wicket-taker in the history of the T20 World Cup.

Ajmal has played for Pakistan in four ICC events and played 23 matches. He has also taken a total of 36 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.79. His best bowling figures was four wickets for 19 runs. He is definitely one of the best components of the cricket ball.
