The Cricket World Cup is the biggest tournament in cricket history, having started in 1975. There have been a total of 12 successful editions so far. Australia has won it five times, while India and West Indies have won two editions each. It is a dream for any cricketer to perform on the grand stage.
However, not every cricketer is blessed with good fortune. That is also when some bad performances happen. This article will also have a discussion on one such statistic. In this article, we will talk about the list of players with the most ducks in ODI World Cup history.

5. Keith Arthurton (West Indies)
Former West Indian batter Keith Arthurton was one of the few unluckiest cricketers on this list. He was pretty decent in ODIs. Arthurton was part of three ODI World Cup seasons between 1992 and 1999. He played 13 innings, got out on a duck in four of those, and scored 248 runs at an average of 20.08 with a best of 58 not out.
4. Darren Bravo (West Indies)
It is very unfortunate for a top-order batter to register low scores. Darren Bravo was one of those batters. He played in the 2011, 2015, and 2019 ODI World Cups. The left-handed batter had a decent average of 30.18 in ODIs. But in World Cups, he played 11 innings and registered four ducks with 207 runs at an average of 23.
3. Kyle McCallan (Ireland)
Former Irish all-rounder Kyle McCallan is another one on this list. He played all nine games in the 2007 ODI World Cup and came out to bat in eight innings. But unlucky for him, he got out on the duck in half of those 8 innings and could only score 33 runs with a poor average of 4.71 as compared to his career’s average of 20.05.
2. Ijaz Ahmed (Pakistan)
With 6564 runs and 10 ODI centuries, Ijaz Ahmed was Pakistan’s premium batter of his time. He represented his country in four ODI World Cups between 1987 and 1999 and played 29 games. Ijaz scored 516 runs at 23.45 with four half-centuries. He was also part of Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup-winning team. But he has the joint-most ducks (5) in ODI World Cup history.
1. Nathan Astle (New Zealand)
Former Kiwi opener Nathan Astle was a free-slowing batter who has recorded the fastest double century in test cricket off 153 balls. He was a decent all-rounder with 7090 runs and 16 ODI hundreds with 99 wickets. Astle played three World Cups for his country between 1996 and 2003, featured in 22 games, and scored 403 runs, including two centuries and one fifty. But he also got out for a duck five times.
