Sri Lanka entered test cricket in February 1982 with a match against England. They made their test debut after playing seven years of ODI cricket. Over the years, Sri Lanka has been known for producing some exceptional spinners, including Muttiah Muralitharan, Rangana Herath, and Ajantha Mendis. But they have given some excellent batters as well.
Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene, Marvan Atapattu, Sanath Jayasuriya, and many more batting icons played for this team at the highest level. Here we are discussing the record for most double centuries by a Sri Lankan in a Test. Sangakkara tops the chart and has scored the second-most after Don Bradman in history.
