5. Herschelle Gibbs (SA) – 8 half-centuries
Former South African star Herschelle Gibbs also showcased his different skills on the biggest stage. He played in three editions between 1999 and 2007 and played in 25 games. Gibbs scored 1067 runs at an average of 56.15. He scored two centuries and eight half-centuries, with a best of 143.
4. Martin Crowe (NZ) – 8 half-centuries
Martin Crowe became the first player to win the Man of the Tournament award when it started in 1992. He played 21 games between 1983 and 1992 and scored 880 runs at an average of 55, with a best of 100 not out. He scored one century and eight half-centuries in World Cup matches.
3. Jacques Kallis (SA) – 9 half-centuries
Former South African star and one of the best all-rounders of all time, Jacques Kallis also had quite successful outings at the World Cup level. He represented his country in five editions between 1996 and 2001. Kallis played 36 games and scored 1148 runs at an average of 45.92. The former all-rounder scored one century and nine half-centuries.
2. Shakib Al-Hasan (Ban) – 10 half-centuries
Shakib Al Hasan has been one of the best modern-day all-rounders and probably the best in white-ball cricket. He has been the face of Bangladesh for almost two decades now and is a consistent performer. He had a brilliant 2019 edition, where he scored over 600 runs with two centuries and nine fifties. Overall, Shakib has played 29 games and scored 1146 runs, including two centuries and 10 half-centuries.
