Lahore Qalandars is the most followed franchise in the Pakistan Super League. The prime reason for this is that Lahore has some of the biggest names in the Pakistan cricket team. Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, and Rashid Khan are some of the biggest names that are part of the Lahore franchise.
Lahore has also won the PSL once, in 2022, when they beat the Multan Sultans in the final of the tournament. Meanwhile, a total of eight different captains have led Lahore in the HGL PSL. And it is Shaheen Afridi who is the current captain of the team. Here we will talk about the list of captains for the franchise in the PSL so far.

4. Azhar Ali (Captain PSL 2016)
Former Pakistan skipper and test superstar Azhar Ali was the first ever player to lead the Lahore team in the PSL when they made their debut in 2016. Although, it didn’t go well and they ended at fourth place in five teams. In his first season, he only captained seven games, winning two and losing five. In those games, he scored 183 runs at 26.14, with a best of 61.
3.Brendon McCullum (PSL Captain 2017-2018)
Former New Zealand opener Brendon McCullum also played for the Lahore franchise. He joined the team in 2017 and played until the 2018 season. He was the captain of the team during his tenure with them. McCullum led them in 18 games in 18 games in those two seasons, and has five wins with 11 defeats and two match ended in a tie. As a captain, he scored 311 runs at an average of 20.73 and a strike rate of 114.23.
2. Sohail Akhtar (Captain from PSL 2018 to 2021 season)
Shoail Akhtar was the most capped captain for the Lahore team in the PSL. He became the full-time captain after McCullum stepped down in the 2018 season and led the team until the 2021 edition. During this time, he was part of 27 games as a captain and led his team to 15 wins and 12 defeats. Shoail also played 44 games and scored 808 runs at an average of 24.48 with a best score of 75 runs.
1. Shaheen Afridi (led Lahore Qalandars to 2022 PSL win)
Superstar Shaheen Afridi made his PSL debut in the 2018 season, and since then, he has been part of the Lahore Qalandars. He became the captain in the 2022 season and led the team to their maiden PSL title in his first season as the captain. Shaheen also became the youngest captain to win a PSL title. Under him, Lahore won 8 matches out of 13 and beat Multan Sultans in the final. Overall, Shaheen has 75 wickets (most for the team) in 53 games with a best of 5/4.
