IPL Auction 2023: Date, Time, Schedule, Venue and All other details

The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League ended with a new champion. It was the new IPL team Gujarat Titans that went on to win their first ever title in their maiden season. The last edition was a 10-team tournament, which is why many believe that it was the best season of all time. However, the fans are now waiting for its upcoming edition in 2023.

Fans are also expecting it to be bigger and more entertaining than the previous one. And as per the governing IPL authority, it has been declared that the mini-auction will take place in December for the 2023 season. The last edition of the IPL saw the Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants make their debuts.

On the other hand, the most successful franchises, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders, struggled throughout the season. So in this article, we will check all the details about the IPL auction, including time, date, player list, schedule and many more.

IPL Auction 2023: Date and Time

As per some media reports, it is confirmed that the mini-auction will take place on December 23 (Friday). On the other hand, earlier, there were three venues shortlisted for the auction in December. Those were Turkey, Bangalore, and Istanbul. However, now it is confirmed that the auction will take place in Kochi. A total of approximately 650 players will come under the hammer. IPL Auction 2023: Rules and Conditions

There are some rules and conditions made by the governing IPL authority for all 10 teams in the auction. The first thing to note is that the upcoming auction will not be as grand as the last one. Furthermore, all the franchises will have the option of retaining most of their players for the next IPL edition. But the mini-auction will see the release and purchase of some players as per the team’s requirements.

  • There will be a trading window for the IPL franchises. It will help the teams exchange a player with another franchise as per their requirements before sending the final sheet to the IPL governing authority.
