MI qualifed to their first playoffs (semi-final) in 2010. They finished at the top of the group stage with 10 wins out of 14 games. MI faced RCB in the semi-final and registered an easy 35-run win to make their first IPL final. But they were unfortunate and lost the final to CSK by 22 runs to end as runners-up.

2. 2011 season – 3rd Place

Mumbai also did well in the 2011 season and finished third in the group stage with nine wins out of 14 games. Thus, they place the Eliminator against KKR which they won by four wickets to move to Qualifier 2. But their journey got cut short as they lost Qualifier 2 against the RCB by 43 runs and finished in third place.

3. 2012 season – 4th Place

Then again in the 2012 season, MI qualified for the playoffs in third place in its group. They won 10 out of 16 games. They were unable to maintain their momentum in the Eliminator, falling to Chennai Super Kings by 38 runs to finish fourth.

4. 2013 season – Winner

MI won the 2013 season. They finished the group stage in second place with 11 wins out of 16 games. Although they lost Qualifier 1 against CSK by 48 runs, they beat the Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 to make it to the final. In the final, they beat CSK by 23 runs to win their maiden IPL title.

5. 2014 season – 4th Place

After winning the 2013 season, MI qualified for the playoffs in 2014. They won seven out of 14 games in the group stage to finish in fourth place. As a result, they played the Eliminator, but their journey ended there itself, as CSK beat them by seven wickets.

6. 2015 season – Winner (second title)

After the 2014 season, the Mumbai Indians made their third consecutive playoff appearance in 2015. MI finished the group stage in second place with 8 wins out of 14 games. In Qualifier 1, they beat CSK to advance to the final. However, CSK beat RCB in Qualifier 2 to make it to the final as well. Then, both teams clashed once again in the final, and MI registered another win over the Yellow Army by 41 runs to win their second IPL title.

7. 2017 season – Winner (third title)

After 2015, MI played in the playoffs in 2017. They won 10 out of 14 games to end the group at the top. But they lost Qualifier 1 to the Rising Pune Supergiants and were forced to play Qualifier 2 against KKR. But MI registered an easy six-wicket win in that game to advance to their fourth IPL final. In the final, they met Pune Supergiant again, but this time they won the thrilling game by one run to win their third title.

8. 2019 season – Winner (fourth title)

MI repeated their feat in the 2019 season as well. They finished the group stage at the top with nine wins out of 14 games. This time, MI took the easy route and won Qualifier 1 against CSK to directly qualify for the finals. However, CSK and MI met again in the 2019 final. And once again, MI beat them by just one run to win their fourth IPL title.

9. 2020 season – Winner (fifth title)

MI made history when they won the IPL in 2019, but they repeated it once again in the very next season. Mumbai once again topped the group in the 2020 season with nine wins out of 14. Then, in Qualifier 1, they beat the Delhi Capitals by 57 runs to reach their sixth IPL final. In the finals, they met DC once again and again registered a win against them by 5 wickets to win their 5th IPL title.
