Hobart Hurricanes are one of the eight franchises in the Big Bash League that represent Hobart, Tasmania. This franchise has been part of the league since the very first BBL season in 2011. However, the Hurricanes are one of only two teams that haven’t been able to win a single BBL season. Although, they have made to the finals twice in 2013 and 2017 seasons, respectively.

Despite all those factors, there have been some big names like D’Arcy Short, Matthew Wade, Tim Paine, Ben McDermott, George Bailey, Dan Christian, and Jofra Archer, that have represented this team. In total 13 seasons, there are 8 players that have led this team in the tournament and Mathew Wade is the current captain.
