Bangladesh made its debut in cricket in 1977 as an associate member. They played a few ODI World Cups until they got “test status” in 2000. That was the moment this country started playing the toughest format of the game. Bangladesh was the 10th team to make their debut in this format.

3. Bangladesh (218 runs) vs Zimbabwe in 2018
Bangladesh’s all top six test wins have come against Zimbabwe. The third-biggest one came in November 2018 in Mirpur. It was the second game of the two tests, with Zimbabwe winning the first game. Bangladesh won the toss and batted first. They declared at 522/7 in their first inning. Mominul Haque (161) scored a big hundred, and Mushfiqur Rahim (219) scored a brilliant double hundred. In reply, Zimbabwe made 304 runs in 105.3 overs.
Taijul Islam took 5/107 to give his team a lead of 218 runs. Batting in the second inning, Bangladesh made 224/6 in 54 overs and declared the inning. Skipper Mahmudullah scored an unbeaten 101 runs. Zimbabwe was given a target of 443 runs. Chasing the score, they made 224 runs in 83.1 overs and got all out. Bangladesh registered a big win by 218 runs.
2. Bangladesh (220 runs) vs Zimbabwe in 2021
The second biggest win for Bangladesh came most recently. It is also registered against Zimbabwe in July 2021. This was the one-off test of the tour in Harare. It is also Bangladesh’s highest overseas win. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first. They scored a challenging 468 runs in the first inning. Mahmudullah scored an unbeaten hundred and made 150 runs. On the other hand, Zimbabwe got all out at the halfway point.
They made 276 runs in 111.5 overs and conceded a lead of 192 runs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up 5/82. In the second inning, Bangladesh had two centurions. Shadman Islam made 115 not out and Najmul Hossain Shanto scored an unbeaten 117. As a result, they declared at 284/1 and gave a target of 477 runs. Zimbabwe got all out for 256 runs and lost the game by 220 runs.
1. Bangladesh (226 runs) vs Zimbabwe in 2005
The biggest win for Bangladesh came in January 2005 in Chattogram. It came in the first game of Zimbabwe’s tour for two tests in Bangladesh. After winning the toss, Bangladesh batted first. They had some good contributions in the middle, and they made 488 runs in 149.3 overs. Four batters scored half-centuries each. Skipper Habibul Bashar (94) was the top scorer. In reply, Zimbabwe made 312 runs but conceded a lead of 176 runs.
Batting second, Bangladesh declared their inning at 204/9 in 51.1 overs. Skipper Habibul Bashar scored another fifty and made 55 runs. The Bangladeshi team set a target of 381 runs.
