Sri Lanka is one of the teams which have the title of the T20 World Cup but is currently listed at the 10th position in the ICC T20 team ranking. Sri Lanka has never been able to chase the target of 200+ in the shortest format of the game, their highest run chase in T20 is 194 which came against Bangladesh when Sri Lank went on a tour of Bangladesh in 2018 to play 2 T20I series.
In the 1st match, Bangladesh got the chance to bat first and they started well and added 193 runs on the scoreboard. In reply, Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka came out to the middle in order to chase the target of 194 runs and gave a nice start by adding 53 runs in a pair for the first wicket.
