The Indian Premier League was the first league of its kind to come into existence in 2008. 5. Murali Vijay and Albie Morkel (152 runs) in 2010
CSK registered their highest IPL total in the 2010 season against RR. That game saw a 152-run partnership for the third wicket between Murali Vijay and Albie Morkel. Batting first, CSK made 246/5 in their first inning. Vijay scored an excellent hundred and made 127 off 56, including 8 fours and 11 sixes. Morkel scored a quick 34-ball 62 runs. RR also had some good contributions in their batting but fell short by 23 runs and made 223/5.
4. Jacques Kallis and Gautam Gambhir (152* runs) in 2011
The fourth-highest IPL partnership against Rajasthan Royals came for the second wicket by KKR in the 2011 season. It was the 12th game of the season, and Rajasthan posted a total of 159/4 in their first inning. Chasing the target, KKR lost Manvinder Bisla (1) early. But then, Jacques Kallis and Gautam Gambhir sealed the deal for KKR. Both batters added an unbeaten 152 runs, and KKR made 160/1 in 18.3 overs and won. Kallis made 80 not out, and Gambhir was 75 not out.
3. Sachin Tendulkar and Dwayne Smith (163* runs) in 2012
Rajasthan Royals suffered a 10-wicket loss in 2012 at the hands of the Mumbai Indians in Jaipur. That game saw the third-highest stand against RR in the IPL. It was Rajasthan who batted first and made 162/6 in their 20 overs. But both MI openers made the chase very easy, scoring 163 runs in 18 overs to win by 10 wickets. Sachin Tendulakr made 58 off 51, with six fours, and Dwayne Smith smashed 87 off 58, including 10 fours and three sixes.
2. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal (181* runs) in 2021
Another 10-wicket loss for Rajasthan Royals came in 2021 when they faced RCB at Wankhede Stadium. Batting first, RR posted a decent total of 117/9 in their batting inning. But both RCB openers made a mockery of the target and chased it down by themselves. RCB made 181 in 16.3 overs and won by 10 wickets. Virat Kohli made 72 off 47, including three sixes and six fours. Devdutt Padikkal scored his maiden hundred and made 101 off 52, with 11 fours and six sixes.
1. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal (183 runs) in 2020
The highest ever IPL partnership agianst Rajasthan Royals came in the 2020 season when they played against Punjab Kings in Sharjah. It was Punjab who batted first and posted a huge target of 223/2 with a brilliant opening stand. Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul added 183 runs for the first wicket in 16.3 overs. Rahul made 54-ball 69, while Agarwal scored 106 off 50 balls, with 10 fours and seven sixes. But PBKS couldn’t defend the title and RR made 226/6 in 19.3 overs to win the game.
