Delhi Capitals have been one of those teams that has yet to get their hands on the championship. They are the oldest franchises in the Indian Premier League that have yet to be crowned. Although they have shown a bit of progress in recent seasons, DC hasn’t made it big. One of the prime reasons for that is their inconsistency.

5. Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson (136 runs) in 2017
DC conceded a 136-run partnership for the second wicket in the 2017 season when they played against SRH in Hyderabad. It came in the first inning when SRH scored 191/4 in 20 overs. Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson added 136 runs together. Dhawan made 70 off 50, while Williamson scored 89 off 51. DC made 176/5 in reply and lost the game by 15 runs.
4. Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa (145* runs) in 2012
A low-scoring thriller between Pune Warriors and Delhi Capitals in 2012 saw the fourth-highest partnership against Delhi. It was Pune that batted first and lost the first two wickets for just one run. Then, Manish Pandey and Robin Uthappa added an unbeaten 145 runs to take the score to 146/2 in 20 overs. Uthappa made 60 off 58, while Pandey scored 80 not out from 56 balls. Delhi made the chase easy and scored 148/2 in 16 overs to win by 8 wickets.
3. Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal (155 runs) in 2022
Rajasthan Royals made it to the final of the 2022 season because their top order was scoring runs. It was when they scored the third-highest partnership against DC at Wankhede. Batting first, RR made a huge score of 222/2. RR had a 155-run opening stand between Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal. Buttler scored a brilliant century and made 116 off 65, while Devdutt made 56 off 35. DC responded well but reached 207/8 and lost the game by 15 runs.
2. Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson (176* runs) in 2018
The SRH pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson made the second-highest IPL partnership against DC. It came in the 2018 season in Delhi. In the first inning, Delhi made 187/5, with Rishabh Pant scoring an unbeaten 128 off 63 balls. In reply, SRH made 191/1 in 18.5 overs to win by nine wickets. Williamson and Dhawan added an unbeaten 176 runs for the second wicket to win the game. Williamson was not out on 83 off 53, and Dhawan made an unbeaten 92 off 50.
1. Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli (204* runs) in 2012
The biggest IPL partnership against Delhi Capitals came way back in the 2012 season, when they faced RCB in Delhi. It was RCB that batted first and made 215/1, courtesy of an unbeaten 204 runs for the second wicket between Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli. Virat made 73 not out, while Gayle scored 128 off 62 balls. DC managed 194/9 in their reply and lost the game by 21 runs.
