5. Rohit Sharma (111* runs) against West Indies at Lucknow
Rohit Sharma holds the record of scoring the most centuries in the history of T20I cricket. He has scored a total of four centuries in the shorter format. He has four out of nine centuries scored by an Indian. Rohit has hit the third highest score for India. It was the second match of the three-match T20I series against West Indies. After winning the toss, the Caribbean team chose to bowl first. But it didn’t go as per plan.
India had a great start. Both Shikhar Dhawan (43) and Rohit Sharma added 123 runs in 14 overs for the first wicket. Once Dhawan got out, Rohit carried on and took the score to near the 200-run mark. He also brought up his 4th century in T20I cricket. He struck a 58-ball century and remained unbeaten. Rohit batted 61 balls and scored 111* runs, including eight fours and seven maximums. India scored 195/2 in their 20 overs. In reply, West Indies could only manage 124/9 and lost the match by 71 runs.
4. Suryakumar Yadav (117 runs) against England at Nottingham
The second highest individual score for India came against England. But it came on a losing course. However, this inning showed the real talent of one of the finest Indian batters. It was the third match of the three-match T20I series between India and England at Nottingham. Batting first, England made a big total of 215/7 in their 20 overs. Dawid Malan made 77 runs off 39. It was a big total to chase and India were looking to get a good start.
But India’s top three got out for just 31 runs, which put all the pressure on the Men in Blue. But then came a remarkable innings from Suryakumar Yadav. He just single-handedly kept India in the game. He smashed a 48-ball century and added 119 runs with Shreyas Iyer (28) for the fourth wicket to take India close. But eventually, he got out in the 19th over and India lost the match by 17 runs. SKY made 117 runs off 55 balls, including 14 fours and six maximums
3. Rohit Sharma (118 runs) against Sri Lanka (Fastest T20 century)
This match saw complete carnage from the bat of Rohit Sharma when he scored the joint fastest T20 century. It was the second game of the three-match T20 series between India and Sri Lanka at Indore. Batting first, Indian openers just added one of the biggest opening partnerships of 165 runs in 12.4 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma hit a 35-ball century and got out after making 118 runs off 43 balls, including 12 fours and 10 sixes.
KL Rahul also scored 89 runs off 49 balls, with 5 fours and 8 sixes. India made their highest total of 260/5 in their 20 overs. It was a huge mountain to climb for Sri Lanka. They tried their best but got all out for 172 runs in 17.2 overs. India won that match by 88 runs and Rohit won the “Man of the Match” award.
2. Virat Kohli (122 runs) against Afghanistan
Virat Kohli scored 122 runs in just 61 balls against Afghanistan in Asia cup 2022 which was played in T20 format. He remained not out in this match. 122 not out was the highest Individual Score in T20 For India. Previous best was 118 runs by Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli broken this record after 5 years but recently Shubman Gill broken this record and scored 126* runs against New Zealand. This is now the highest individual score in T20I from Indian players.
