5. Chris Gayle (107 runs) in 2011
One out of six centuries for Chris Gayle has come against Punjab team in the 2011 season. He was part of the RCB team, and it was the 47th game of the season in Bengaluru. RCB made 205/6 in their overs. Gayle made a 46-ball century and made 107 runs off 49 balls, with 10 fours and 9 sixes. In reply, Punjab got to 120/9 and lost the game by 85 runs. Gayle also picked up 3/21 with the ball.
4. Virat Kohli (113 runs) in 2016
Virat Kohli had a dream season in 2016, when he led RCB to the final. He smashed four centuries in that season alone. One of those came against the Punjab Kings in the 50th game of the season in Bengaluru. The game was reduced to 15 overs due to rain, and RCB posted an unbelievable score of 211/3 in 15 overs. Virat smashed a 47-ball hundred and made 113 off 50, with 12 fours and 8 sixes. In reply, PBKS reached 120/9 and lost the game by 82 runs.
3. Mike Hussey (116 not out) in 2008
The first ever batter to score a century against Delhi franchise in the IPL was former CSK opener Mike Hussey. He scored it in the 2008 season in Mohali when CSK scored their highest IPL total of 240/5. Hussey scored an unbeaten 116 runs off 54 balls, including eight fours and nine sixes. Punjab also batted well but didn’t chase down the target. They made 207/4 and lost the game by 33 runs in the end.
2. Chris Gayle (117 runs) in 2015
Chris Gayle is the only batter who has scored two IPL centuries against the Delhi Capitals in the league’s history. The highest came in the 2015 season when RCB and Punjab faced each other in Bengaluru. RCB posted a huge score of 226/3 in their first inning, with Gayle scoring 117 runs off 57 balls, including seven fours and 12 sixes. However, Punjab had a horrible day and they bowled out for just 88 runs, while RCB registered a massive win of 138 runs.
1. Sanju Samson (119 runs) in 2021
Sanju Samson has hit the highest score against Punjab Kings in the IPL’s history. It was made in the fourth game of the 2021 season in a high-scoring game. Batting first, PBKS reached a huge total of 221/6, with KL Rahul (91 off 50) and Deepak Hooda (64 off 28) scoring half-centuries. In reply, Samson kept his team in the chase and scored 119 off 63 with 12 fours and 7 sixes, but RR fell short by 4 runs and made 217/7.
