The Guyana Amazon Warriors is one of the most toughest and unfortunate teams in the history of the Caribbean Premier League. Guyana has made an appearance in five finals in the CPL and ended up on the losing side in all five matches. Apart from that, they have been in the top four in each and every season of the CPL. The team is based in the city of Providence, Georgetown, Guyana.
The home ground of the franchise is Providence Stadium, which is located in Guyana. Rayon Griffith is the head coach of the team, while the new skipper is yet to be announced. So, it will be interesting to see who will lead the franchise in the upcoming tenth season of the league.
Guyana Amazon Warriors 2022 Squad
Despite playing five finals, the Guyana Amazon Warriors are yet to win their maiden CPL title. So this time, they will be in search of their maiden win. However, they have invested smartly in the CPL 2022 Draft and have signed some of the most exciting T20 players. Notably, they made the headlines when they picked the highest run-scorer of 2021, Shai Hope. That will surely boost their batting department.
They have retained hard-hitting batter Shimron Hetmyer and all-rounders Odean Smith and Romario Shepherd. To boost their batting depth, they have signed Paul Stirling, Colin Ingram, Heinrich Klaasen, and Keemo Paul. The franchise also worked on their spin department and picked up Imran Tahir and Tabriaz Shamshi. Overall, they have done a good job and will look to execute the plans in the upcoming seasons.
The GAW will open their 2022 campaign against the Jamaica Tallawahs on Saturday, September 3rd. They will look to get their first title with a strong team this time around.

Romario Shephard was the pick of the bowlers, not only for the GAW but also in the tournament. He ended up picking the second-highest wickets in the CPL 2021. Shephard took 18 wickets in just 9 matches at an economy rate of 7.69. While Odean Smith was also the joint second highest wicket-taker with 18 wickets in 11 games.
