6. Neil Harvey (Australia) – 54 innings
Former Australian batter Neil Harvey is the sixth fastest batter to reach 3000 career test runs in history. He was a gifted left-handed batter who could bowl a part-time off-spin as well. Harvey made his test debut in January 1948 against India at Adelaide. He played for 15 years, and it took him 54 innings to reach the 3000 runs in tests. Overall, he scored 6149 runs in 79 games at an average of 48.41, including 21 centuries and 24 half-centuries.
5. Brain Lara (West Indies) – 52 innings
When it comes to batting in test cricket, not many come close to former West Indian great Brain Lara. The left-hander was a treat to watch in his playing days and holds the record for the highest individual score of an unbeaten 400*. Lara made his test debut in December 1990 against Pakistan in Lahore. He reached the 3000-run mark in red-ball cricket in his 52nd inning. He ended as one of the greatest red-ball batters, with 11953 runs in 131 games, 34 centuries, and 48 half-centuries.
4. Herbert Sutcliffe (England) – 52 innings
Former English legend Herbert Sutcliffe is 4th fastest batter on the list. Sutcliffe played for 20 years (including domestic) between 1919 and 1939. But he made his Test debut in June 1924 against South Africa and completed 3000 runs in his career in his 52nd innings. In his international test career overall, he scored 4555 runs in 84 innings at an average of 60.73 with 16 centuries and 23 half-centuries.
3. Everton Weekes (West Indies) – 51 innings
Former West Indian great Everton Weekes is the third fastest cricketer to complete 3000 test runs in his career. Weekes used to be the consistent batter for his team. Having made his debut in January 1948 against England at Bridgetown, he played for the West Indies for the next 10 years. Weekes completed 3000 test runs in his 51st inning. The former cricketer scored 4455 runs in 48 games at an average of 58.61 with 15 centuries and 19 half-centuries.
2. Marnus Labuschagne (Australia) – 51 Innings
Marnus Labuschagne became the second player in history to score fastest 3000 runs in test cricket. He completed this milestone in home series against West Indies in December 2022.
1. Don Bradman (Australia) – 33 innings
There was only one man who was near perfect when it came to batting in test cricket. And it was the legendary Australian batter Don Bradman, who is the fastest ever on this list. Bradman made his red-ball debut for Australia in November 1928 against England. He completed 3000 runs in his career in just his 33rd inning, which is 18 innings less than the second-ranked batter. Bradman scored 6996 career runs in 52 games at an unbelievable average of 99.94, with 29 centuries and 13 half-centuries.
