Dhaka Dominators: The Bangladesh Premier League has become a leading T20 competition in the world right now. That is the reason stars from across the world come to play in his competition. The BPL was inaugurated in 2012 and a total of 7 teams. The Dhaka Dominators are one of only two franchises that have won the BPL title three times.
They won the tournament in 2012, 2013, and the 2017 season. Apart from that, they have also finished as runners-up in 2018 and 2019, respectively. 3. Dhaka Dominators (116/9) vs Rajshahi Kings in 2019
Dhaka Dominators made their third lowest score in the BPL against Rajshahi Kings. It came at Sylhet Stadium in the 17th game of the tournament. Rajshahi Kings won the toss in tha game and decided to bat first. And this game turned into a low-scoring thriller. Batting first, Rajshahi didn’t have the start they would have wanted. They lost their opener by just two runs. After that, a second-wicket partnership of 75 runs helped them reach 136/6.
It wasn’t a big total to defend against a strong Dhaka side. But in the second innings, Rajshahi bowled pretty well. Chasing the target, Dhaka lost their first three wickets for just 23 runs within four overs. That put pressure on them, and they couldn’t handle that pressure. As a result, they only scored 116/9 in their chase and lost the game by 20 runs.
2. Dhaka Dominators (107 all out) vs Rangpur Riders in 2015
The second lowest total for Dhaka Dominators came when they played against Rangpur Riders in the 2015 season at Mirpur. It was Rangpur that won the toss and decided to bat first. They had a good start, with a few good partnerships in the middle. Lendl Simmons made 51 off 39 runs in the middle. And with a few good contributions in the middle, Rangpur reached a total of 176/6 in their first innings.
With a competitive target to chase, Dhaka started poorly with their bat. They lost their two openers for just 15 runs in three overs. After that, they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. In the end, Dhaka got all out for their second lowest total. They made 107 in 19.4 overs and lost the game by 69 runs.
1. Dhaka Dominators (100 all out) vs Sylhet Sunrisers in 2022
The Dhaka Dominators have not been dismissed below 100 runs in the BPL. But they had been dismissed on exact 100 once, which was in 2022 season. It was the game against the Sylhet Sunrisers at Mirpur. Sylhet won the toss and chose to bowl first, and their bowlers proved that decision right. Batting first, Dhaka had a nightmare of a batting display. They kept losing wickets and couldn’t make any big partnerships.
Dhaka were all out for 100 runs in 18.4 overs, with seven batters failing to reach double figures. In response, Sylhet didn’t have to struggle in their chase. They reached the target of 101 in 17 overs and made 101/3. Sylhet won that game by seven wickets, and Dhaka ended the game with their lowest total.
